NEW FOREST PONIES IN THE NEWS: The New Forest Pony Society of North America (nfpsna.com and facebook.com/NFPSNA) is an excellent source for current news of New Forests in competition in North America: dressage, hunters, jumpers, eventing and driving.

Here are a few, current, notable results, demonstrating the versatility of the breed:

(September 2015) Forrest Nymph (Forrest Flame x Hoppenhofs Silvia/Nieuwmoeds Patrick) completed the Plantation Field CIC** with Sinead Halpin and the Forrest Nymph Syndicate was officially registered with USEF/USHJA (facebook.com/SineadHalpinFarrah)

(October 2015) Trillville (Corso x Sonnius Nemesia/Sulaatik's Vivaldi), ridden by Farah Rizvi, won the WCHR Pony Challenge at Capital Challenge.

(October 2015) Imported Dutch New Forest stallion, Brando (Orlando x Elvira/Justice H.R.), ridden by his owner, Karen Erickson, were 6th out of 28 in the AA First Level USDF class and 4th in the First Level 5 year old AA Futurity at the Region 7 Championships (in 2014, they were Region 7 Dressage Champions of AA Training Level USDF and of the Training Level 4 year old AA futurity and were Reserve Champion of the AA Training Level CDS). The pair also was high score champion (75%) of the National Dressage Pony Cup Northern California series.

NEW FOREST PONIES in the NEWS, past:

(2010)  New Forest Pony medals at WEG 2010: A New Forest Pony has just won 2 Bronze and one Silver medal at the 2010 World Equestrian Games! Sixteen year old Stinna Tange Kaastrup of Denmark and her New Forest pony, Labbenhus Snoevs, secured Team Bronze Medal (70.174%) for Denmark as well as the Individual Bronze and Individual Dressage Freestyle (77%) for grade 1B in the Para Equestrian Games. Labbenhus Snoevs was bred in Denmark, but has strong English lines, especially on his dam's side.  Sire: Ridderslag Gerhard [Beverlogde Diamond X Nieuwmoeds Joyce (Merrie Moscan)]. Dam: Roloekke Susanna (Peveril Priobus X Wootton Summertime (Oakley Starlight)

(2009) Imported Dutch New Forest Pony, Trillville [Corso X Sonnius Nemesia (Sulaatik's Vivaldi)], was the USEF 2009 HOTY Supreme and Medium Pony Hunter champion.

(2007) New Forest ponies were champion at the 2007 Pony Finals! In an unprecedented feat, two imported New Forest pony geldings took top honors in BOTH the hunter and jumper divisions...

Enchanted Forest, a Dutch New Forest gelding (Sulaatik's Fireball X Muleander) was the Medium and Grand Pony Hunter Champion at the 2007 Wildhorsefeathers/USEF Pony HUNTER Finals, and Magic BB (Igor), another Dutch New Forest gelding, was the 2007 Adequan/USEF National Pony JUMPER Individual Champion. Congrats to the outstanding young riders and teams of these exceptional ponies!

There may not be many New Forests out there, but the ones that are, are certainly at the top of their game...note the similarities in the bloodlines of these outstanding ponies, they are exceptionally well bred and tremendous ambassadors to this relatively under-recognized breed!
